To commemorate his 82nd birthday on Tuesday, Paul McCartney posted a photo of himself performing on stage on Instagram. He captioned the image with a reference to the Beatles 1968 White Album classic, “Birthday,” writing, “They say it is my birthday 🎵 and I’m looking forward to being spoilt rotten by my loved ones! – Paul.” That seemingly innocent post belies the fact that McCartney threw a party for the ages at his home the night before his big day. The party was attended by fellow superstars Ringo Starr, Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen, and Meryl Streep. Elvis movie star Austin Butler was also there, and revealed that Taylor Swift was DJing the party at one point. “That was insane,” Butler told Jimmy Kimmel on an episode of the comedian’s talk show. Kimmel was also there, and called McCartney’s birthday celebration, “the craziest party I’ve ever been to in my whole life.” (Billboard)
